The SPLA Compliance Checklist

What the checklist covers

SPLA compliance is won or lost in the monthly cycle. This checklist walks the same ground an auditor will, so you can find and close the gaps first. It is organized around the parts of your reporting that auditors test most often across the 36 month lookback.

Monthly reporting

• Every SAL and processor count filed on time, with the Services Provider Use Rights applied to the right workload
• A documented reason for any month over month change, so movement is explained before it is questioned
• Over reporting checked as carefully as under reporting, because both cost you

Authentication and evidence

• Daily authentication counts captured and sealed, so a peak figure cannot be substituted later
• Evidence retained for the full lookback, not just the current quarter

Mapping and boundaries

• Every reported SAL block mapped to a named customer and contract
• Product and version mapping kept current as editions change
• Multi tenant boundaries documented, so shared infrastructure is not counted as external use
